Its with a mixture of great excitement and a tinge of sadness that we would like to announce that we will be closing Jacks at the end of the night of Saturday 1st November 2014, with everything being ripped out prior to a 3 week refurb that will see the venue re-opening in late November with a new concept with a totally new name.
“Plantation” is a £250,000 project that will utilise and adapt the space to afternoon, early evening and late night opening.
Our main focus will still be late night opening and live DJs, but with more of a relaxed atmosphere and food during the day.
We’ve been working with top food consultants to create a menu of gourmet burgers, hot dogs and sides, with our gleaming new kitchen being fitted as we speak.
Our drinks menu is being revamped to include more craft beers and cocktails.
The decor will feature distressed wood, feature lighting, booths, and mixed seating, creating zones and areas around the venue that will break up the space, so it feels more comfortable instead of a large open area. The bar will use lighting and furniture to move seamlessly between afternoon/early evening eating, to relaxed drinking and then to late night fun with live DJs, with moveable furniture creating a large dancefloor and a hidden £25,000 LED Lighting Ceiling will turn on completely changing the vibe and atmosphere in the venue.
We will be revealing a new website, refurb pictures/plans, and menus along with pictures of the food that we have been perfecting for the last few weeks shortly, please join us at www.facebook.com/jacksandqueens for more updates
The final weekend at Jacks will be the weekend Starting with the Student Night Halloween half term special on Thursday 30th October for Student Night with DJ Vic Brown, Friday 31st October for Halloween and the final, final ever night at Jacks will be on 1st November with DJ Stew Williams. All Three nights, will be packed to the rafters so please get to the venue early and expect to queue if you come later than 1:15am.
During the refurb, Queens will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
